What are the types of pumps?

There are many types of pumps, which can be divided into the following categories:
Centrifugal pump: This is one of the common types of water pumps that uses centrifugal force to move the liquid into a pipe or container by placing the liquid in a rotating impeller. Centrifugal pumps are simple in design, easy to install and operate, so they are widely used.
Positive displacement pump: Unlike centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps are another common type of pump. They move liquid into a pipe or container by changing the volume inside the pump chamber. The positive displacement pump can be divided into piston pump, gear pump, screw pump and other types.
Axial-flow pump: Also known as a propulsion pump, it moves liquid by pushing it along an axis into a pipe or container. Axial flow pumps are typically used in applications requiring high flow and low head.
Mixed flow pump: combines the characteristics of centrifugal pump and axial flow pump, the liquid is pushed along the axis, and the liquid will rotate along the inner wall of the pump shell. Mixed-flow pumps are usually used in applications with larger flow rates and smaller head.
Other types: also include mid-open centrifugal pump, single-stage centrifugal pump, multi-stage centrifugal pump, vertical long-shaft pump, etc., suitable for different flow and head requirements.
According to different working principles and structures, water pumps can be further subdivided into vane pumps, positive displacement pumps, etc. When selecting a pump, the main factors to consider include flow, head, power, etc., to ensure that the pump can meet the specific application requirements.
